The successful applicant will provide high-quality care and supervision for school-aged children attending before school care, after school care and vacation care programs. The role is responsible for delivering engaging educational and recreational activities while ensuring children's safety, wellbeing and development in accordance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), My Time, Our Place (MTOP), and organisational policies.

Task & responsibilities

• Assist in preparing materials and equipment for educational and recreational activities for school-aged children. 
• Prepare, organise and conduct educational, recreational and wellbeing activities appropriate to children's age and development. 
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor recreational activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing. 
• Manage children's behaviour and guide their social, emotional and personal development through positive interactions. 
• Supervise children's daily routines, including arrival, departure, meal times and hygiene practices. 
• Entertain and engage children through storytelling, games, creative play and group activities. 
• Encourage children's participation in educational, recreational and social activities. 
• Observe children's wellbeing and promptly respond to incidents, injuries or emergencies. 
• Maintain accurate observations, attendance records and program documentation. 
• Work collaboratively with educators, families and school staff to support children's development. 
• Ensure all activities comply with the National Quality Framework (NQF), Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, My Time, Our Place (MTOP), and workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III, Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, School Age Education and Care, or a closely related field. 
• At least one year of relevant full-time work experience in an Outside School Hours Care, childcare or similar education and care setting. 
• Current Working with Children Check (WA) or eligibility to obtain one before commencement. 
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certificates (or willingness to obtain before commencement). 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team. 
• Genuine commitment to providing high-quality care for school-aged children.
