Task & responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated Child Care Worker who can lead, inspire and be part of a great team. The key duties include:

• Follow the National Quality Standards and childcare regulations by developing and delivering a curriculum based on our service philosophies.
• Assist in preparing and setting up educational and recreational activities and materials that support children’s learning and development.
• Assist in developing teaching goals for the service and educators.
• Develop and build strong relationships with children, families and co-workers.
• Support children’s social and emotional development, guiding behaviour and promoting positive interactions.
• Assist children who have additional needs. 
• Record children's growth, development and behaviour using electronic portfolios.
• Plan and participate in entertaining activities for children such as reading storytelling, games, and creative play to engage children.
• Ensure that all children can participate in different activities and experiences.
• Provide constant active supervision to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
• Support children through daily routines, including meals, rest periods, and transitions.
• Be a positive leader and work in partnership with co-workers.

• Ensure the learning environment is kept clean, organised, safe and hygienic.
• Attend to all Quality Improvement Plan weekly tasks. 
• Assist in the administrative tasks required to ensure that the standards are being met.
• Work with our networking agencies to facilitate the delivery of a quality service.

The successful applicant will also have opportunities to engage in the design and build of an innovation centre for the inclusion of children of all abilities and their families that is currently underway on an adjoining block. Qualification & experience

• A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher)
• 1+ years of full time experience as a childcare educator (long day care setting)

• Do you have a minimum of 1 year full time experience as a childcare educator (long day care setting)?
• Do you have a current First Aid certificate?
• Do you have sound written and verbal communication skills?
• Do you have a clear understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework?
• Do you have good knowledge of rules and regulations for children's services?
• Are you willing to mentor colleagues and bring new and bright ideas into our service?

• Are you willing to undertake professional development and be part of a rotating roster?

Licenses/Certification needed

• Relevant Diploma qualification or higher
• First Aid certificate
• Working with Children Check (NSW)
