Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Promote language development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes, and informal discussions in both individual and group settings.
  • Monitor and support children’s nutritional health, wellbeing, and safety, identifying factors that may impact their development and learning outcomes.
  • Plan and structure engaging learning experiences across both indoor and outdoor environments, using a variety of materials and equipment to support children’s overall development.
  • Adhere to professional standards and codes of ethics, and maintain ongoing professional development, keeping up to date with current practices, resources, and relevant frameworks.
  • Supervise and mentor student teachers undertaking practical placements.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress to identify developmental milestones, as well as any signs of ill health, emotional concerns, or learning difficulties.
  • Provide diverse activities and experiences that foster the development of motor skills, cooperative social skills, confidence, and understanding.
  • Attend and actively participate in parent interviews, staff meetings, and committee meetings.
  • Participate in community and family support programs where appropriate to strengthen relationships and support networks.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress and development.
  • Assist families with children’s transitions and provide guidance and support when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum qualification of a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (or higher)
  • At least 1 year of experience working as an Early Childhood Teacher
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certifications
