We are currently seeking a full-time Permanent Teacher Level 1 - LDC (Early Childhood (Pre-primary School) Teacher) to join our team, with the role based in Queanbeyan, NSW. Task & responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and deliver developmentally appropriate learning programs for early childhood children.
  • Structure indoor and outdoor learning environments using a range of materials, resources and equipment to support children’s development.
  • Teach and support early literacy, numeracy, music, art, storytelling, literature, language, motor skills and social interaction.
  • Provide planned and spontaneous activities that build children’s confidence, independence, creativity, cooperative social skills and school readiness.
  • Implement the Early Years Learning Framework and relevant state-based curriculum frameworks.
  • Observe children’s learning, behaviour, health and development to assess progress and identify any concerns or additional support needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s learning, developmental milestones, interests, achievements and participation in the program.
  • Promote language development through storytelling, songs, rhymes, role play, informal discussions, group activities and one-on-one interactions.
  • Support children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive and creative development through inclusive teaching practices.
  • Actively supervise children across all routines, including indoor and outdoor play, meals, sleep and rest, toileting and transitions.
  • Monitor children’s health, nutrition, safety and wellbeing, including allergies, medical needs, hygiene, sleep and rest requirements.
  • Implement child protection, mandatory reporting, health, safety, hygiene, medication and risk-management procedures.
  • Develop and maintain respectful relationships with families and provide regular feedback about each child’s progress, learning and wellbeing.
  • Attend and participate in parent-teacher interviews, family information sessions, staff meetings and service meetings.
  • Support children’s transition to school through school-readiness programs and communication with families and local schools.
  • Lead, guide and mentor educators, trainees and student teachers to support quality teaching and learning practices.
  • Ensure educators contribute to observations, documentation, curriculum planning and daily learning experiences.
  • Contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan and support continuous improvement across the service.
  • Maintain compliance with the National Quality Standard, National Law and Regulations, service policies, Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
  • Prepare and maintain safe, clean, inclusive and engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments.
  • Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices through children’s learning experiences.
